Full Time Probation Officer – Probation Department

Perry County is seeking a full time Probation Officer in the Probation Department.  Multiple positions are available.  This position is responsible to supervise defendants on court ordered probation supervision or parole to assure compliance with the conditions of supervision.

Primary duties include:

  • Supervise defendants to ensure compliance with court ordered supervision conditions by conducting home visits, drug/alcohol monitoring, office visits, and responding to reports of violation
  • Supervise special populations and maintain responsibility for electronic monitoring devices and data.
  • Prepare presentence investigation and social history reports
  • Attend court to provide information to the judge, make recommendations, and prepare probation plans
  • Arrest and detain individuals who violate probation

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field with four months of law enforcement experience required.
