Full Time Probation Officer – Probation Department

Perry County is seeking a full time Probation Officer in the Probation Department.  This position is responsible to supervise defendants on court ordered probation supervision or parole to assure compliance with conditions of supervision.

 

Primary duties include:

 

  1. Supervise defendants to ensure compliance with court ordered supervision conditions by conducting home visits, drug/alcohol monitoring, office visits, and responding the reports of violation
  2. Supervise special populations and maintain responsibility for electronic monitor devices and data
  3. Prepare pre-sentence investigation and social history reports
  4. Prepare Pre-sentence Investigation Reports and Sentencing Guidelines as ordered by the Court
  5. Attend court to provide information to the Judge, make recommendations, and prepare probation/parole plans
  6. Arrest and detain individuals who violate probation

 

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field with four months law enforcement experience required.
