Caseworker 2 – Children & Youth Services
Perry County is accepting applications for Full Time Caseworker 2 in the Children & Youth Services Department. This civil service position is responsible to provide a full range of social and case management services to children, youth, and families.
Primary duties include:
- Performs service planning on intakes to include completion of intake documentation
- Determine risk using approved risk assessment model
- Investigate reports of mistreatment and abuse of children
- Perform general protective services including home visits with families and development of family service plans
- Perform out of home placement duties to include monthly visits and family contacts
Successful candidate must possess:
Six months as a civil service County Caseworker 1
OR
Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program
OR
Bachelor’s degree with a social welfare major
OR
Bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social science and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency
OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
Compensation includes a starting salary of $24.92/hour. Perry County employment offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes generous paid time off, a County retirement plan, and health, dental, and vision insurance after a 90-day probation period. The position is included in a twenty four hour on-call rotation.
